Areas of Practice

Divorce

Preparing for a divorce can be emotionally traumatic for everyone involved. Making decisions about your future and knowing how to navigate the options can be challenging. We help you analyze and determine the best course of action to achieve your desired outcome. Our goal is to minimize stress, avoid conflict and ensure you are protected through the entire process.

Support

We specialize in helping guide the determination of proper child support, whether it be paid or received, while following the current Illinois statutes and case law.

Allocation of Responsibilities (Formerly Custody)

Today, Illinois, like many other states, no longer recognizes custody. Instead, the courts now allocate parental decision-making responsibilities. We help to ensure that you are involved in the decisions that affect your child’s life to the maximum extent possible.

Parenting Time

We fully understand the importance of spending time with your children and will work diligently to provide the maximum time possible with them. We help cover the inclusion of regular daily/weekly time, as well as vacation/holiday time.

Property Division

Determining property division can be overwhelming. With our expertise, we can help guide you through the two main aspects of property division. First, determining what constitutes marital property subject to distribution and; second, determining the proper division of such marital property. We take all relevant factors into account to ensure an equitable division of marital property.

Maintenance (Formerly Alimony)

We help identify whether or not maintenance is applicable under the facts of your individual case. Once it is determined that maintenance is justified, there is a formula in Illinois through which the courts determine both the duration and the amount of maintenance to be provided or received in a dissolution of marriage.

Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements

We represent many high net worth individuals, and are well versed in drafting Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements.
